Independence Day in Dominican Republic
On February 27, 1844 the independence of the Dominican Republic was proclaimed, as a result of the war for the independence, - the republic has separated from Haiti.
The penultimate day of February is a national holiday in the Dominican Republic. It is celebrated with military parades, festive events in schools and universities of the country.
Dominicans remember with gratitude Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sanchez and Ramon Matias Mella for their struggle for freedom of all the Dominican people.
Every year on February 27, the President of the Dominican Republic make a report for the country about the last year of his government.
Vendimiya – in English, the word "vintage" is equal to this concept – is a harvesting of grapes intended for wine production. From of old the producers of wine were in awe of this moment, it was a celebration of their work. We invite you to become a part of such celebration!
